In Egregious Privacy Breach Attracts Little Attention, Calgary Herald writer Karin Klassen sums up FATCA well in one word;
“Whew”
She also describes the situation well in just a few words:
“Stephen Harper has handed over the ransom.”
Thank you Ms. Klassen for trying to understand and report on this complex issue.
I posted at Isaac Brock and sent a thank you letter to The Editor of the Calgary Herald and to Karin Klassen (for whom I couldn’t find an email).
“Whew” is right!
Is lazy journalism the fault of the journalists or are they just giving us what we ask for?

Ms Klassen’s article should open some eyes in the Calgary oil sector. I think she did a really good job in a very short article. She managed to point out the salient facts without diving too deep – just enough information for people to take notice, and then go investigating for themselves.
