   Saw your interview and had just begun US TAX preparation. Was time-consuming just to find someone. Then the big surprise: the estimated costs ranged from 5400(+1000s for additional forms) to 10,000 + extra forms. Thus in my case (retired with many different small (5000+) investments, it could cost 10-30000 dollars (more than I got in 2011).
   Have now found turbotax after exhausting the US free tax software and will now attempt to file myself after spending an entire month gathering most of the necessary data.

      Are there possible reasons why you may have already relinquished U.S. Citizenship?
